The Atlanta Citizen is a daily, independent, online news site that focuses its local government and business coverage on the Gwinnett County and North Fulton County, Georgia areas of sprawling metropolitan Atlanta. The publication reflects a strong sense of place, with its reporting and coverage concentrating on ultra-local events in these areas. Its goal is to provide information to the entire community that in effect should serve Atlanta’s many citizens.
The publication at present includes original reporting and analysis of local events and policy decisions and concentrates on providing coverage of local government issues and local economic development and business news. In the not-to-distant future, plans call for the news site’s expansion with coverage being provided in additional areas and on different topics (public safety and education, for example).
